About Annika Schwartz BSN, RN
I am a dedicated home health nurse with over 7 years of clinical nursing experience. I began my nursing career in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at University of Maryland Medical Center, where I spent 5 years managing patients with critical conditions requiring life-saving measures. This experience laid a strong foundation in high-quality education and detail-oriented care—skills I now bring into the homes of those I serve.
For the past 2 years, I have specialized in home health, with a particular focus in supporting the geriatric community and individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of Dementia. While working in the hospital setting, I realized my passion for caring for those with memory deficits like Dementia/Alzheimer's. I firmly believe the optimal environment for those experiencing memory challenges is within their own home, where familiar surroundings help:
- Reduce anxiety and confusion
- Calm the nervous system
- Maintain dignity and independence
- Enhance quality of life
I am especially equipped to assist clients and families in understanding the unique challenges that come with memory loss and cognitive decline. I strive to create a calm, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes safety, dignity, and quality of life for all those involved. Through both professional nursing experience and personal family history with Alzheimer's, I bring a unique dual perspective to memory care.
Every client I care for receives my full attention, clinical knowledge, and heartfelt commitment. My goal is not only to manage medical needs, but also to support families needing help with the care of their loved-one in their homes.

My grandma was my inspiration for becoming a nurse early on in my life. She exemplified to me how to care for everyone like they were family. She always had a seat at her table and a good listening ear for whomever needed it.
Pictured is me and my grandmother at my nurses pinning ceremony where each graduate chose one individual who helped and motivated us to become nurses.
